I love the simplicity of this line of yours from the link you shared — “What can schools do that software can’t?” Your note also reminds me of what Ron Berger has been telling us for years — that all schools need a focus for their work, and the proper focus should be on high-quality student work, by which he does not mean literacy and numeracy, but deeper learning and thinking, usually through projects and an extensive revision process.
